Pompano Beach

Pompano Beach. The name summons up images of--what else?--fishing! Fishing is the prevalent activity in this modest-sized community on the edge of the rich feeding grounds beneath the waters of the Atlantic shore.

Pompano Beach Pier stretches a magnificent one thousand feet into the ocean. You can rent your fishing gear there.

Pompano Beach stages the annual Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo, one of the largest sport fishing events in the United States.

At the Pompano Beach Harness Raceway, one can relax and watch the only harness horse racing in Florida.

For shopping, one can take in Pompano Fashion Square, with its 100 shops and food vendors. Or the mammoth Festival Flea Market, the largest of its type in the United States, with more than 600 stores and booths.
