Hallandale Beach

Hallandale Beach was founded as a Swedish colony in 1896 by Luther Halland. It is famed for its horse and dog racing and also sports a small beach, popular with teenagers and families with small children. Along with Hollywood, Hallandale Beach is a popular destination for the 350,000 Canadians who visit Broward County annually, and the French tongue is popular there.

Gulfstream park, with its world class thoroughbred horse racing, is located in Hallandale Beach. This racing facility is the site of the $500,000 Florida Derby and, recently, hosted the Breeders' Cup Championship.

The Hallandale Beach Fashion Center features more than 60 discount stores and is a popular attraction in the area.

Hallandale Beach offers a range of hotel accommodations and dining facilities.
